B E Trailer Towing Licences
B + E Towing Licence, do you need one?

B + E Towing Licence - the rules:
More and more people are being affected by the rules relating to towing a trailer.
If you passed your car driving test after 31st December 1997, and you wish to tow a trailer, other than a small trailer or caravan, you will probably need to take the DSA B + E towing test. If you pass, this will add the B + E category to your licence.
Please check the exact conditions by clicking on the link to the direct.gov website, then follow the links. The rules are complicated, so do check it out.
The B + E category covers vehicles driven on a category B car licence, up to 3.5 tonnes MAM whilst towing many trailers above 750 kgs MAM , whilst empty or loaded, caravans and horsebox trailers.
We specialise in B + E towing courses. Please do contact us if you require further information, or you wish to book a course - further details on our B + E towing page.
Remember, if you are not licenced, then you are not insured.
